Inspired by my favourite band - Iron Maiden, oh yeah and a love of all things historical
But this day in chaos will pass,
Ships sighted in the distant sea,
Send word for the women and children to flee,
They will be here soon,
The time slowly approaches noon.
They land on the southern shore,
Warriors of a mystic lore,
Helmets gleaming in the sun,
As they start to run,
Charging our defences without any fear,
Shouts of defiance and screams is all we can hear.
The massacre begins as we pray for our lives,
But they enslave our children and kill our wives,
No time for them to get away,
No-one will ever be able to forget this day,
Houses ablaze, nobody can stop them,
For they are truly invincible, the mighty Norse men.

The Invasion
Summers morning, dew drops on the grass,But this day in chaos will pass,
Ships sighted in the distant sea,
Send word for the women and children to flee,
They will be here soon,
The time slowly approaches noon.
They land on the southern shore,
Warriors of a mystic lore,
Helmets gleaming in the sun,
As they start to run,
Charging our defences without any fear,
Shouts of defiance and screams is all we can hear.
The massacre begins as we pray for our lives,
But they enslave our children and kill our wives,
No time for them to get away,
No-one will ever be able to forget this day,
Houses ablaze, nobody can stop them,
For they are truly invincible, the mighty Norse men.
