going the distance
With a whispermoansigh the cherub ranTo the great confusion
"If I were to go on the morrow
And cross the fairy plains with hunger in my heart
Would I be blessed enough to survive the voyage"
"Only because of love can it be done"
So with thoughts of you held close to my heart
I ran through fields of green clover, across the dimpled ground
Past rabbit jack and fox of red tail
As fast as my feet would carry
I dredged across the moors
With the scent of morning dew and highland heather
Upon the sun kissed breath of wind
I ran to the crystal palace
And screamed my words to the voices of kings
My words fell upon deaf ears
With tears of passion in my eyes
And the fire of loves fuel burning in my heart
I cried aloud to the heavens
And stood alone in silence at the golden doors
I danced... I danced in fairy fields
Under moonlight pale and golden
And sent my voice high
Carried on the smoke of their burning incense
Perfumes of ancient times
I walked with uncertain foot into forgotten wood
And sat upon the leaf covered ground
Amongst the snap twigs and golliwop trails
I looked up through autumn's balding canopy
To blue sky and with gentle voice
Asked the breeze to carry these words to you
"My heart is filled cupful with joy
At the thought of you
Never shall I fear
Save to not ever gaze
Upon your beautiful soul again"
