This is the day

Today passes by while we make the grandest plans for tomorrow.
Life becomes somewhat of an illusion in this daydream state.
We spend so much time and energy either lost in the past
or daydreaming about the future and let's face it:our recollection of the past
is so often altered in the efforts to satisfy our own mental reality and we
rarely ever end up recalling the truth.Or we spend time daydreaming of a future that never actually ends up the way we envisioned.Either way we
squander so many "todays" in this manner.
I hear people talk about "seizing the moment"but how many of us walk
through life seizing moments? This practice has been devastated by
"if, ands, or buts"and meanwhile, moments are being squandered.
The next time you hear someone advising another to seize the moment,
examine the manner in which you spend your's.Might that be the "moment"
where you discover better ways to spend or seize the moments that follow.

I immediately thought:
This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it....you have captured exactly what we all seem to find ourselves doing...squandering the day..with excuses....why not just rejoice in the moment and hold dear to what we have been given, and stop worrying about what was and what is to be....just a thought.
