one night you'll walk out on the world
the trees were crying rubies red
upon your dress of silken black
the stars were dying as you fled
with nothing to hold or hold back;
I heard you singing in my soul
grasping the moment close and hard
although
in my head,
the Moon was falling the end was near
Chimeras dancing circles in the pagan dusk
made gothic jewels to decorate
the belt of writhing deaths that called for us,
yes it was quite late in the year
almost the swan's song the denouement'
sang your name in coded verse
I touched the perils of your face
wanting I know what cannot be
just like everything I ever found which seems
yet is and is not, and is but a creature of dreams,
This Quest is but Light burning it's sails in vessels
of the flesh,
Still is the breath of evening to fall again
One more stage to set let light the stars
Another curtain's parting like pages vellum brush
Catch a place while there's still Time
Your perfect face is shining dark
Between the flashing chromes of falling bombs
Before the costumes dissolve to inward curled
