When Mary Birthed Jesus

When Mary looked upon his face
I wonder what she saw
Did she see her tiny son
lying in the straw
and recognise that he was God
and that he'd come to earth
to save the world from itself
through his virgin birth
Did she know that someday he
would turn water into wine
and walk on water, raise the dead
and give sight to the blind?
She could not know her little boy
would die upon a cross
and by his death and resurrection
save all those who are lost
When Mary looked upon his face
Did she say "Jesus"
and understand in some way
he was God's gift to us
Do we think about that babe
and understand the story
of the miracle that started
when Mary birthed that little boy?

This poem is just lovely Phyllis!!!

I think she know deep inside that

Jesus was God's gift to us and when

the Angel talked to her . . . from

that minute she know . . .

But Jesus was also her little boy who

grew up in this world like a human . . .

All the best, Dan!
