A nun has none of her own, but wants to be a mother, superior.

The Self-Barrened Womb

Your life-giver,
Though God-given,
No pre-born
Will live in.

What kind of choice was it,
To shun your womb
In your marriage to Christ:
To close and entomb
Your only chance
Of immortality?
Abstinence
From your immorality
Sends your earthly
To a displaced land;
Turns your garden,
Into a wasteland.

So very true!
And the same could be said about priests. I have met priests who looked as if they could have been god's gift to women, and instead were god's gift to god ;) Though they, being men in a patriarchal structure, are somehow "compensated" by obtaining more power.
Many lives have been destroyed by the church's twisted way of relating to the body and its natural functions and needs.
