A nun has none of her own, but wants to be a mother, superior.
Though God-given,
No pre-born
Will live in.
What kind of choice was it,
To shun your womb
In your marriage to Christ:
To close and entomb
Your only chance
Of immortality?
Abstinence
From your immorality
Sends your earthly
To a displaced land;
Turns your garden,
Into a wasteland.

The Self-Barrened Womb

Your only chance
Of immortality?
