I run my fastest

But still get beat 

I land on my head

When i should be on my feet

I try to move forward

But i'm still in rewind

Why do i keep at it?

I wont be left behind i tell myself over and over

THe harder i am thrown

The higher i bounce

I give it my all

And thats all that counts

In first place i am for now

Now i am in second place 

What happend? 

Why cant i stay in first place?

I find myself in first place very seldomly

I try my best but still dont do good enough!

But i keep tellin myself

I wont be left behind!

Some people tell me you can't

Some people say don't do it

Some simply give up

But i reply, i wont give up

I will do it

And i can do it!

Now here is the power

Locked away in my mind

My perseverance  is my  excellence

I wont be left behind

Make the best of each moment

The future is still to come

Then soon the will be the past

The more i tell  myself this

The less i come in last

I wont be left behind!
