A Mountain Awareness

Everest is not
The tallest mountain in the world;
It's the name of the highest point of the rock
That geology has unfurled.
Many great people
Are similarly, individually acclaimed;
They are the highest visibles
Of the masses unproclaimed.

just the other day..I was thinking along the same lines
ppl are crowned Miss universe or put in the book of world records everyday...hasn't anyone stopped to think that there can never be one mopst beautiful lady in the world (even if beauty could be measured) same goes for th nobel prize..just because they have been recognised doesn't mean they are the best..
Thank you for putting in words what i have believed for so long..

How very true. its like the pennines are the whole range, each mountain and hill has a name as do the alps etc.
I like your poem very much and look forward to reading more.
