Remarkable
Drowning boy,
breathing water
while the audience cheers.
His bleeding heart is
remarkably dry.
Falling girl,
watching the rest
of her life crumbling
because of a single step.
Her racing thoughts are
remarkably calm.
Dying mother,
screaming father;
your madness
has touched me
in an inappropriate way.
Your phoney smiles are
remarkably sincere.
