Dry Tears

Don't tell me to take it easy,
Don't tell me everything is going to be alright
Don't tell me not to cry
Don't lie to me!!
Don't ask me why
Don't tell me time heals all wounds
It's been 15 years and I'm not feeling any better.
Don't lie to me!
Don't make me read the bible
Don't tell me to cheer up or smile
Don't tell me a joke or tickle me.
Don't you dare try
I just want to cry
Silent Screams
Dry Tears
Numb Headache.

Mark J. Wood
People see grief as the problem when it is the cure. You have to go through it to get to the other side; all remedies are merely postponements.

Being told to cheer up is the teller's way of saying: "Stop upsetting me with your being upset." But, remember that elephants wallow only once a day and then get on with the rest of their lives.
