Some self reflection on Christmas Day. After all the gifts were opened and with all the people gone, I decided to take a look inside my own package...myself.
Unwrapped
Who am I?
I am a caretaker,a dreamer,
a writer, a reader, a thinker,
a friend, a sister, an aunt
a teacher, a daughter,
a creature of habit.
I am a woman, a girl, a child,
a defender, a mender,
a breaker,
a speaker,
a listener, a destroyer,
a creator of life.
I am a sinner, a believer,
a receiver, a giver
a mother, a maker, a taker
a seeker, a deliverer
of words on a page.
I am a grandmother,
a lover,
a seducer, a reducer,
a player, a soothsayer,
a layer of lies.
I am one who laughs
and
I am one who cries
with brown eyes
full of tears and fears
and aged
from years
of being just who
I am.
Me.
Truly.
