Spenserian in form
A Knight one night upon his Lady came
upon her lying, tearful in her bed,
morose that some beloved without a name
instead of love a millstone left instead.
To wipe away the tears her lover bred
the Knight extended forth his loving hand
a healing milestone in his words she read
which Knight himself wrote from another land.
"I love you, Knight; you proffer no demand
and I am safe though we have never met;
yet I am here and there you far off stand.
Through words and verse we cannot closer get.
A renaissance directs my happy life anew
my tears no more, my love, my Knight, with you."
