AUTUMN
So long shades of autumnBe seeing you prisoners of cycles
Brief but hectic has been this passage
You were here for less then a flicker of a candle
And after you go only smoke will remain
Memoirs of long distance telephone calls
The dead screaming within your flesh
O you daughters of sublime time
Drink deeply and suck me dry
For now is eternal and tomorrow will never come
Don't be rash fighting over cash
Like wild cats heads stuck in a bin of trash
I hear your footsteps pass my door
I can't beckon you in anymore
No prosperity without death
No life without breath
Have you ever kissed the lips of a corpse?
Can you see it smile?
Nothing can harm it now
Buried in the ground the worms come around
Food for thought
Life cannot be bought except with death
So don't think you can buy more time, the price is too high
Even for this minute that has just passed you by
Pull back your break-neck speed
Release your feather-like soul
From the boundary of sense
Make haste while the sun burns away
There's no time to waste
In this frantic chase
Towards the appointed hour
At the appointed place.
