Lonely...
The Princess is in her chamber
And I watch her from the ground,
I pretend to watch the blossoms fall
Making sure no one's around,
I am a soldier and a samurai
Sworn to war and duty,
But a man also of loneliness
A man enchanted by her beauty,
She doesn't even know me
Doesn't know that I exist,
Nor realize that her beauty
Strikes me like a fist,
Her hair is black and comely
Like a midnight waterfall,
I wish to hear her lilting laugh
And watch her smile, tis all...
To hold her close, pressed to me
To hear her breathe and sigh,
I know is forbidden to
A stoic samurai,
I shan't know grace and beauty
Nor the love behind her veil,
For solitude is the path I walk
And loneliness the trail,
My lady disappears from the window
With the hush of silk she's gone,
As the wind blows thru the trees
Down to my ears wafts a song,
Sung by her and her handmaidens
It's a song of love and glee,
I bow my head and leave
For no one sings such songs for me...
