A Poem from my debut book of poetry, 'My Secret Heart', available from amazon.com...
I watch the tender snow fall
Like petals to the ground,
They fall so soft and silently
They do not make a sound,
The sky is low and leadened
A gun-metal gray and sad,
Reminds me of how my heart is
Over the love that I once had,
Though the winter winds blow hard
Through the stark and naked trees
I wrap myself in the blanket
Of warm sweet memories,
The Mizu River flows beneath me
And I watch it from the walls,
A samurai and sentry
I've answered duty's call,
But when duty's bond is over
And I return home and free,
Will I find my Love there?
Will she wait for me...
