When I in darkness walk

When I in darkness walk,
Baring my soul to the creatures of the night,
Declaring my ill-fortunes,
Troubling deaf doves with words of loneliness,
Cursing myself for privileges denied,
Confessing my wrongs to the heavens,
Testifying to the existence of everlasting love,
When I in darkness walk,
The love of my life sleeps peacefully in her bed.
