"The stars what you see..."
The stars what you seeIn the mirrors of lakes,
At early nightfall
When the darkness awakes?
When you look downwards
From the violet skies
As though many millions
Of cold shining eyes.
Whether you see
A reflection of face
Of the grey-haired moon
That is veiled with a haze?
Or, maybe, on this
Crystal canvas you sight
A picture of silver
That's drawn by moonlight?
The stars what you see
From a boundless height?
The scattered fragments
Of frozen delight.
Indifferent watchers,
Who are sunk in thought,
Dreaming about...
Who knows about what?
The enchanted forest
With whispering trees,
The wind that's disturbing
The stillness of seas,
And snow-white winter,
And emerald spring,
Or fiery autumn,
Have you ever seen?
The stars what you see
In the mist before day,
When night has prepared
To be fading away?
You see by the last look
When you're almost gone
How flowers give
Their hearts to the sun?
