Will You Please Let Me Go Unconscious?

I'm tired tonight.
Please, let me sleep.
Will you please let me go unconscious?

Outside my window it's all storms and rains.
And yes I can feel it inside, the winding of pains.
Consequences of mechanisms of defense.
Struggle between the lands and the heavens.

I'm tired tonight.
Please, let me sleep.
Will you please let me go unconscious?

Sometimes I feel the need to forget,
to let the threat regret, and reset.
And when the sorrows get too strong,
I know that I do not belong, in this lifelong wrong.

I'm tired tonight.
Please, let me sleep.
Will you please let me go unconscious?

I agree dear Dan, Sometimes it is neccesary to switch-off to recoup, but is it possible to do voluntarily? I don't think so! Mind is a place where thoughts keep crawling back even if you want to switch off completely... But, can't!
((( Hugs for the copmpassionate write!)))

Oh do I ever relate to this! A great poem. I am sorry for your situation but from it you've written something important.
