This is a song based on "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". I wrote this to entertain a baseball loving fan/friend of mine. I actually had to sing this at Christmastime!

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Referee

Rudolph the red-nosed referee
Had a very shiny whistle
If any pitcher would strike out
He had an eye on that missle

Rudolph was a very young ref
Everyone contested his calls
But his eyes were the sharpest
He never took his eyes off the ball

Santa kept him on the bench
For all of spring training
The summer passed as well
And even fall was waning

Rudolph the red-nosed referee
Officiating was his life
Thought he would never get to ref
And never would earn his stripes

It was a cold day in Seattle
Bottom of the 9th, 4 to 3
A-Rod was up at bat
Hernandez had the key

Rudolph was on the bench
The game was on the line
If A-Rod hit a homer
New York would have a time

There were 3 men on base
Hernandez was getting tired
Rudolph wanted to be seen
Helping Seattle get out of this mire

Then old Santa pulled the head ref
He couldn't make the calls
Rudolph with your whistle so bright
Won't your ref this game tonight?

So Rudolph stood behind the bag
As Hernandez let it fly
Strike one, strike two were called
My Oh My Oh My!

The crowd was on its feet
The wave went round the stadium
Rudolph had his chance tonight
He held his whistle tight

Then came the knuckleball
Into the strike zone
A-Rod tried to hit
Rudolph called the strike home

As all Seattle celebrated
Their win over the dreaded Yankees
Rudolph knew he'd done his best
With everyone to see

Santa and all the elves
Surrounded Rudolph that night
And told him no one else
Could have called that strike

Rudolph the red-nosed referee
Had a very shiny whistle
And every World Series
You will see him decked out with tinsel

Now he's everyone's favorite referee
No one ever contests his calls
Rudolph's eyes are the sharpest
They are always on the ball.
