Summertime Fog
Summertime FogI know there is a sun above
The stars have long since faded away
Fog has turned the world a dark blue
The morning dew still clings to the grass beneath my feet
A chill pierces through my jacket
Although it is a June morning
It feels like November
Thoughts rush through my head
Dreams of a winter
Cold and grey
Visions of the beach I left behind
That girl in the pink bikini everyday sitting in the sun
Fishing at a pond
So warm
So desirable to this
Distant and oh so far away
Will I ever see it again
Will this mist clear
It is so cold
Animal tracks break up the pearls of water
Leaving a path to follow
One beam of sun
A single beam of light
Hope, far away yet there
Leading me out of the darkness
Into a world of light and warmth
Back to the fishing hole
Back to the beach
And to that girl
Sitting there in her pink bikini
