The Ocean
The ocean like lotion sooths and smooths the grooves of landAs she meets the sand, her arm reaches out to where I stand...
It's a grand encounter
although, I doubt her
For her reach is short and her stretch is taut
...still it tightens...
Enlightened by its closeness
She sweeps away, leaving a trail and smell,
a single shell, from her swell
...she should loosen the tension and lessen her apprehension...
She now stares back at me without reproach
...I approach...
Now I am going too
realizing i must pursue
Not just her reaching for me
As there must be a we
Two becoming one, an equality
...it is now done...
She returns as I yearn for this embrace
Her reach is longer, it covers my face
I lay bare and without a trace
From where I began to reach this place...
The lotion now sooths and smooths my skin
Not just the grooves of land
For the sand has become my hand as she becomes me
Finally, fulfilling my relationship with the sea.
