Words Incinerated Upon Re-entry
One dark, bright moonlit night
when new moon beamlessness
shown grimly cast no shadows
where eyes saw all through blinding light
I saw not beauty of one fallen star
that falling blew itself apart
unseeing in ice frozen conflagration
raining fire icy coals upon a frozen heart.
A second burst from southern sphere
rose downward from the northern pole
plunging upward soaring through
that vortex through earth's solid hole.
The soaring words slammed groundward
remnants of his promises, to miss: a hit
hurled skyward hearts left dead from cold
found life in building pieces bit by bit.
One light, dark sunlit night
when full moon's stabbing rays
shone sadly with dark shadows: light
gave new loves hope and happy days.
