not all that poetic ... just words

and you hold me

and you hold me
in a dance
at a distance
but close

not letting others
get the wrong idea

you hold me
at a distance
but just close enough
to keep me

coming back for more

and I sway within
finding only unspoken words
luring me to pick up the line

letting me play parts
me on stage
you in the audience

guiding me with subtle applause
further into my act

I not knowing
where reality ends
or begins

Very touching! Naively at least, a native English speaker wants line 9 to be "but just close enough"; however, it is understandable as is, and perhaps adds an exotic flavor by sounding "different"...

Oh Kath you have presented this so realistically. This is just as it can happen and often does. There is that fear of loving and not being loved in return, of being played for a fool. However, how will we ever find love if we don't take the chance. I know it certainly can take the wind out of our sails when we find we have been deceived. When this happens, I try to learn from it. Take a bit of a breather and then live life to the fullest again which includes being open for love once again. Beautifully presented.

the reality of love is often a dimema i have had those same feelings in the past but no i am easy with the knowledge

that the only thing is love, it exists within us or not you either love or not there is no half way and as we have debated in the past it exists despite any mutuality or not

I know love now and feel love now so i empathise with your words well done katherine xx rgds Michael
