I don't know - I was asleep at the time...

To dream at a waltz.. (for music)

Serenely I wandered past caring
To a room in an empty crowd
A stairway of stares was declaring:
"Sorry - no looking aloud

To dream at a waltz"

No questions the answers are dancers
And linger not on our laps
But wear away with their knowing
On the scent of a perfect perhaps

To dream at a waltz...?

Along came advice from a daydream:
"No preferred outcome required."
So all became all that it may seem
And expectation aspired

To dream at a waltz...

Then girls with rather large noses
Appeared in a meadow in May
They said"we can sooner smell roses."
Then they made me a make-do-day

To dream at a waltz...

The 1957 members who haven't read this one, do not know what they've missed: A delightfully playful piece of poetry!
