What Do I Do With Your Words?
What do I do with your words? They fell upon me like knives
You tell me today you are going away
And we both should go on with our lives
What do I do with each one
each word that came to my ears
each played a part in breaking my heart
But you think there should be no tears
Like spears, they pierced my skin
they worked their way inside
with each wound, I felt doom
then cried, and sighed and died
Here, take my lifeless form
and do with it what you will
words matter, they can make you sadder
then finally deplete and kill
Go on now and take your leave
You wanted to go and you can
I'm no longer here, I've left just a tear
Now you're free to be your own man
I can see your walk is heavy
It seems a burden you tote
it's your own story, your own glory
It's the ending your cruelty wrote
