life would be a better place for all, if we do what we do out of love.

if all poets were poets

If all poets were poets,
heaven would be groomed,
and,
hell would harbour void.

If all poets were poets,
deserts would drown in oceans,
streams would breed fishes,
and butterflies would rule the sky.

If all poets were poets,
storms would go dumb,
eclipse would bade the sky good-bye,
and sailors would anchor in bliss.

If all poets were poets,
dusts would turn to ashes,
ashes to diamonds,
and men would be equal.

If all poets were poets,
beasts would be mild-hearted,
blame would be ungodded,
and humans would be humane.

If all poets were poets,
God would be God.

And indeed there are poets that are poets
their readers would have to be the same.
I really enjoyed this poem and look forward
to reading more of your work.

Christian Lanciai The PoetBay support member heart!
An excellent piece of poetry, with some interesting ambiguity as well.

Parnika
This reminds me of a song which says
"If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We'd see the day that nobody died"

Yes, if all poetry writers were poets we'd gain so much and lose so little
Dont agree with tai chi when she says if only poets would write things we understand...not everyone writes to be understood..
Anyway, nice piece..make it a song..

I am not sure the introduction has much to do with whether all poets are poets, an interesting poem though. Not sure about the last line either, life would be a better place if all poets made sense imo!lol Smiling at you, Tai
