In the distance

And her eyes closed
another day had gone
and the pleasant..
warm summerday

Just diseappered
into the frozen night
as frost laid on the windows
she stopped her crying

and left this world...
the dreams she had
in this night of horror
was lifting her to the skies

the yellow cornfeilds
the glimmering light
all lost in a heartbeat
never again to be

disturbed...

crossing over to a new dream

and the other world
the golden cornfield
was in the distance
of the fading eyes

So sad...
Disturbing...
Why would one leave like that?
Sets you thinking...
Evokes questions!

Inked.
I love the last ten lines in particular...the poem keeps a steady tone, then ... peaks and downplays. I can't explain...

It kinda makes me sad and lonely at the same time. But not. Good job, though.
