To dream at a waltz (2nd scrawl)

Serenely, I wandered past caring,
Through a room in an empty crowd,
a stairway of stars was declaring:
"Sorry - no twinkles allowed

To dream at a waltz"....

No questions the answers are dancers,
Who linger not on our laps,
But wear away to their knowing,
On the scent of a perfect perhaps

To dream at a waltz...

Then Ladies with rather large noses,
Appeared in a meadow in may,
They said "we can sooner smell roses",
Then they blew me a make-do-day

To dream at a waltz...
