I hate smoking.
"Hate for smoking & love for the smoker, the very paradox of it..." -Zoya Zaidi
She studies the quiet
And sighs her grave acceptance,
Holding his hand with disinfected grace and
Ignoring a certain contentment in his toxic smile
He is saying something with every tragic exhalation.
He is sorry.
She'd give anything to kiss those
Smoke-filled lungs, carved blue in the starlight,
Back to life again

"Hate for smoking & love for the smoker, the very paradox of it..." -Zoya Zaidi
Blue-Carved Lungs.
Purple smoke is issuing from his mouth in constellations. She studies the quiet
And sighs her grave acceptance,
Holding his hand with disinfected grace and
Ignoring a certain contentment in his toxic smile
He is saying something with every tragic exhalation.
He is sorry.
She'd give anything to kiss those
Smoke-filled lungs, carved blue in the starlight,
Back to life again
