this is my tribute to founding Floyd member Syd Barrett...who recently passed.It is also my take on the movie The Wall..in which Bob Geldolf's character Pink is strongly based on Syd
granting me an overbearing mother;
riding bikes on acid adventures,
the gates of dawn were discovered.
all hail the hallucinating rock star,
temporal groupies can't fill my void.
set secular hollow solitary devices
barricading hotel sinks drive to destroy.
getting intimate with isolation,
won't be making the show tonight
and my fans can all go to hell;
schizophrenia is my only light.
I don't need no grudged devotion;
smash my stratocaster through the t.v.
Hollywood hypocrisy is food for worms;
luxurious loneliness engulfs me.
safe in self constructed confinement,
glamor disguise bleeds paranoid eyes.
break down the door, shatter seclusion;
wheelchair whirl to game's demise.
freinds and family gather outside wall
as I seek the comfort of a toilet seat;
stripped bare feelings expose weakness,
my band members help me to my feet.
