With Friends

Here is the road that starts from my home,
It runs and curves and bends,
And I can walk it along alone
Or shoulder to shoulder with friends.

The road turns to the right:
I stumble with sorrow and sad.
But every misfortune I survived
Shoulder to shoulder with friends.

Then there comes the light
When I follow my road to the left,
And love delights my heart and eye
Shoulder to shoulder with friends.

Then I feel the goodness and calm
When the road goes straight ahead.
All the difficulties I can overcome
Shoulder to shoulder with friends.
