So Near So Far

She who raises eyebrows shoots a glance in your direction
Her lids shine like bright half moons in a beetle-black sky
Her fire-fly eyes burn with an intense predilection
The mysterious you shines right through
And impacts like a freight train
Upon this confused and chaotic brain

I tear through the layers towards the luminous being within
To touch the fluttering soul
Whose beauty and light bathes me in its tantric envelope
I suffocate deprived of the wisdom that hides within those eyes
An occasional Mona Lisa smile to guide the way

Ambiguity, hopeless clouds of confusion, grief and sorrow
Seem to be the human epitaph
As we walk along this barren and broken path
If we can grasp the rail of reason and crawl out of this social madness
Then the lunatics can sit back and laugh.

But I fear like ships in the night
This connection will become an ever so, temporary coincidence
And more often then not,
Will be an unwelcome hindrance
Connect and disconnect
The flame flickers then extinguishes
Amid the happy clownish madcap laughter

As we ride the starry river
Calling to Thoth in his Celestial Boat
To save the child from the earth-ghosts
And remember our connections to the heavens
