There is a rapid-fire-round-of-a-word-game we used to play in childhood: Naming your favourites... Psychoanalyze this... Whenever I am down and out, I always count my blessings, or simply my favourite things...
Few Of My Favourite Things
("When the dogs bark, when the bees sting, when I am feeling sad/I simply remember my favourite things and then I don't feel so bad."-Maria Von Trapp in 'Sound of Music')Horse:
My favourite animal
Lithe, blithe and forceful
Quick as summer lightening
And yet, so smart & graceful...
Red:
My favourite colour
The colour of fire
The colour of desire
The colour of passion
The colour of festivity
The colour of creation
The colour of my soul...
Sea Shore:
My favourite dwelling place
Early in the morning
Sun rising and dispelling
Quietly and softly
The darkness of the night
The peace and tranquility
Disturbed only by swish of waves
Splashing up the beach
The golden sand beneath me
Calling me to the deep
I love to dive and unravel
The mysteries of the deep,
A longing fills me to sail
To far off shores and seas...
Night:
I am not afraid of
Darkness is my friend
Death I do not dread
Though loneliness I fret
Let my end come, when it comes,
I'll close my eyes in peace,
Dream of flight and freedom
& open my arms in welcome...
