The Circus Left Town

the show's over
you can stop laughing now
the clown's dead
shot by a sadness handgun in the head

why do you still laugh?
there's no joke in here
he's dead,buried gone
nothing left to fight nor to fear

it doesnt always end up like this
sometimes the clown gets tired
goes home...
but this one made you laugh
made you mad, insane to the bone

no need to call for him
no need to set the mask
it's of no use anymore
it all ended at last

settled in sorrow, he drops dead
all the laughing killed him slow
inside burned a pain they never understood
behind the comedy, laid a painfull heart
your eyes could never see...

Nicely done. Yes the clown is generally the one really most sad. The poem has a gentle, lamenting flow. Nice to read your work, Tai
