Sitting in the little courtyard outside my dorm.
As if fresh from the bag
The sunshine that is clearly seen
Shines through without a snag
The senile critters run and play
Looking for their prize
They search and scamper every day
For underground it lies.
New plants sprout and old ones bloom
Dusting the ground with green
Flowers every shape and size
Adding color to the scene

The Courtyard
The spring-time air is fresh and cleanAs if fresh from the bag
The sunshine that is clearly seen
Shines through without a snag
The senile critters run and play
Looking for their prize
They search and scamper every day
For underground it lies.
New plants sprout and old ones bloom
Dusting the ground with green
