For Liv,
whom I met in the middle of the street of Karl Johan in Oslo.
At first I didn't recognize her and then,
she told me that her son just recently had commited suicide.

To Comfort You

I came back from holidays, arrived in Oslo town
The spring was nearly here and I was walking around
I was just to cross a street when I saw a face
Didn't know if I should say hello
But then I heard her cry.

Richard, Oh, is this you or have I made a mistake
And I replied: I don't know your name but I think I recognize.
You must be a friend of someone that I know very well
Then you told your tragedy, don't remember how the words fell.

But please, take care, we will always be there
To stay by your side, we will abide
Love, don't wait, we are standing at the gate
sharing your sorrow on your road to tomorrow

There is something we don't see, noone will understand
that the fall can be here 'though the spring is setting in
But if you need a hand or trust
to help to bring you through
You should know that we are here,
Some friends to comfort you.

This is very sad. I read it several times. I feel so much Liv, what a terrible thing to happen, and to have to live with......I know that there is an association somewhere for the parents of children who commit suicide, wish I could remember the details for you.
She sounds like she has a good friend in you.
