When at last true love is found it is truly a treasure.

Treasure of Love

When I found you I was not aware
of the power, the magnificence of your worth.
I was fearful of what might come with the good.
I was hesitant to fully accept what appeared
to be a treasure full of diamonds.
I thought,

Could this be cut glass again.
Glass that has no value
except to leave scars
from abusive etchings.

I still bear them you know
those terrible remembrances of past failures,
of bad choices, of naivety.
But you never faltered, you never dulled,
or lost your true brilliance.
How can a diamond return to coal?
It cannot; it is forever.

And, now My Treasure,
I glow because of you; your light shimmers
from within me. I am arrayed in your
beauty, shimmering in your reflected light.
I have found my own value as I look into
your eyes and see the many facets of your love.

Truly you have adorned me with precious jewels
as your love encircles my being and sets my
heart ablaze in your embrace.

A wonderful story, a beautiful tribute to your treasure. It is so important to know your worth and the worth of others. You have grown wise through your trials and tests. Never forget, you are a diamond too.

My dear Kathy,
It is true,
True love knocks at your door sometimes
In the most oddest of times
And you are left wondering:
Is it true?
Is it really love at last,
Or am I dreaming,
And would wake up
To find, it was not?
Like the last time it was?
Is it true love,
Or is it not?
But someone whispers tenderly
Near you breathing sweetly
It is I, recognize me?
I am your true love,
My sweet!

(((Hugs for finding true love at long last)))

Love, Zoya

Kathy, it is a wonderful message your words tell!

Love is not afraid but we can be as we may have come across that "broken glass" ...

"Could this be cut glass again.
Glass that has no value
except to leave scars
from abusive etchings. "

This part of your poem .... telling of hurt is so beautifully written and still tells of the deep cuts that kind of experience leave us with .. to once more trust love takes courage and belief ... and the disbelief in another person is what has come with these experiences ... and disbelief in oneself ....

You so beautifully tell of all this and the power of love that can carry us over broken bridges.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful and touching poem here ..

best wishes
katherine

Love this:
"How can a diamond return to coal.
It cannot; it is forever."

This reminds me of
words Thomas said to me.

This is so beautful, Kathy.
