Reflecting Images
Oh Momma, I am missing you so
Your sweet voice softly singing alto
Your healing hands soothing my pain
Your strong character leading me again
To make better choices along the way
And Momma do you know I'm lonely today
Sitting here thinking of what would you do
On a day like today when you felt so blue
You'd probably sit quietly just for a while
And let the tears flow then offer a smile
Of encouragement to each one of your nine
Speaking of love from the one true Vine
Your life was built upon the Rock of Ages
Your wisdom sound as the ancient sages
And Momma do you see me now
I'm writing you poetry; you showed me how
To take a thought and express it true
This is what I give back to you
A love, unending, inspired by grace
Momma do you see yourself in my face
Or perhaps I show a flicker of light
That comes from your heart and sparkles the night
Like the stars in the heavenly Milky Way
Your spirit will shine both night and day
And I will forever be grateful to you
For giving me life and loving me too.
