Mask

I wake up from Nightmare,
Body filled with sweat
"Scared of devil mask"
"I glanced at mirror"
My image "screeched"
"And the room shudders"
I heard...
Refugee mask on your visage
"like black clouds" on void sky
Hiding tears....
Echoing refugee in ears
Still I am running.
Chasing for nothing,
Behind I left my shadow.
Migrating from hither...
To reach thither,
And I forget my own country
I ignored truth and reality,
Oh! Like lizard I can't change.
Recall the year 1959.
Refugee mask pasted in my face,
I cannot escape....
From this reality
Till....
I cannot free my country Tibet.

Zoya Zaidi
Each poem of your, I read, I feel the anguish of your love for your country and the single-minded dedication to the Tibetan freedom from Chinese occupation... Hats off to your courage and loyalty to your homeland!

I know what it is like
to be an outsider in your own land,
a prisoner in your own house,
to feel stiffled in your own garden,
to be answerable for every move of yours
in your own streets,
in every Bazaar of your own town
I know what it is like
To be a stranger in you own land...

Keep it up!

Individuality
perhaps removing the speechmarks here? they don't really fit the piece. here for example:

"Scared of devil mask"
"I glanced at mirror"

these are statements rather than speaking, also maybe saying at the mirror?

Hiding tears.... / Till.... - ellipses three dots only, there is no need for a period after ellispes for the point of ellipses are to show a continuation of thought, to add a period to them then stops that continuation.

other than those points, a good piece, masks are the norm in life i think, we all use them every day, i have explored this topic too as many have in poetry for as i say we do wear them.
