Circled Distance
To have circled distance
alone,
in the dark,
where tears fall
and inner self is seen,
reflects much more than surface.
Much more than gloss or painted mouth.
Pride smiles to recognize it,
yet frown mourns the lack of projection.
"There must be more than this".
Such whisper barely breathing,
leaves the lips in shadow.
Coined and cornered,
to bend and bow
before icons in repent,
knowing mortar and plaster
cannot hear the call to spirit within,
defeat is resolution.
Energy, fine-tuned, masters the moment
where simple truth shines her beacon.
Purple light heralds song of wisdom.
In quick flicker,
fast to show and disappear
the search begins
again
in circled distance
to find heart.
