"Those who cling to life die, and those who defy death live." - sengoku daimyô - 16 November 2005
Samurai.
Walking with the samurai,
Flowing the noble cries
That ride on the horses back.
Takanobu never ordered
The rice fields to bleed,
And the Gempei war to
Enslave myriads of stallions.
The grey obscures the green pine,
The orange horizon melting.
What way do they turn?
Suicide no choice but honour,
For the ovation –
For the corn fields that feed
Each warrior and place
The armour on there breasts.
Mire in the eyes of the great.
