upside days

and doubt does crowd my mind
so come sooth the crumbled heart

the one I wear for after-noon tea
and please do tell the guppies not to play
or the rain to pour acid in my cup of tea

as we talk of upside days
filled with kisses lost in a riddle

and when we say our good-byes
remember me
as I remember you

holding fire among ice

This is a beautiful poem and so subtle in its rythm

for some reason I am reminded here of John Betjeman's

'A Subalterns love Song'

in this stanza well done hes one of my favs

the one I wear for after-noon tea
and please do tell the guppies not to play
or the rain to pour acid in my cup of tea

This poem eases the reader through, almost nonchalant, and then the last line bites!
