a response to Dorothy Sayer's " the human not human ".

women are not human

women are not human
she came second to man
and only as a second thought
to embelish the finished work .

women are not human
she defered from the law
and hearkened to the voice
of a serpent in rebelion.

women are not human
she defiled the laws of the
flesh and bore a son
at a mean age.

women are not human
she discovered the secret
behind a warrior's power
and led him into destruction.

women are not human
she found favour in the eyes
of a mighty king and mordecai's
grave swallowed haman.

women are not human
she led a wise mighty king
to worship a dead wood
and rebelled against God.

women are not human
she looked back to the
burning city and became
a pillar of salt.

women are not human
she heard the voice of an
angel and carried God in her womb,
many nights later , bore man's saviour.

women are not human
she wiped the dusty feet
of the master with her long
beautiful hair.

women are not human
she dared the Roman soldiers
and went to the tomb
to anoint the master's corpse.

women are not human
she saw an Angel and
ran back with the good news
" THE LORD IS RISEN."

women are not human
she was created to be
a helper,
they lie when they say they are.

night soul woman The PoetBay support member heart!
Women are not human and they(men? - they lie when they say they are) if I understood right of course. Biblical examples that illustrate what the patriarchal society and the elite thought about women or wanted the rest of the society to think about women? Or shall I consider bible as a historical documentation?

Is this a poem a plea? A plea for the reader to see the truth and react? Here is my reaction then : There are no women or men just humans :) Your poem made me think :) Thank you
