Feminism? Perhaps.
got to swallow her tongue
swallow her pride
and become
hold her head low
unravel her braids
unravel herself
and become
but i've lived too long
in this hourglass life
this estrogen shell
to become
and i've understood
what it's meant all along
to submit to one's self
and become
i know the shame
of a pandora grief
and i know what it means
to become
when sending out hope
is a song all along
stubborn or not
i must come.
