Who Now So Young Lay Dead
Hold tight to your children
Embrace them lovingly
Invite them to tell you
Their thoughts of uncertainty
For they are our future
Our hope, our destiny
Take care of their hearts
And direct them diligently
Their minds so full of wonder
And life just makes no sense
Do not leave them drowning
In the sea of hopelessness
All children are our children
Whether kin or society's child
In them grow the seeds
Both turbulent and mild
In our actions we are teachers
In the eyes of those who see
Children watch their elders
And learn just what to be
Listen with your hearts
And hear their cries unsaid
For many are the weary
Who now so young lay dead
