All Is Lost But Hopes

Feelings tremble,

Knees quake.

How long am I going to wait,

For the nonexistent second date?

The first that never happened,

Was a hit.

We didn't talk forever.

And the part where I didn't get walked to the door,

Seemed like it would last forever.

My mind is numb,

And lips are tingling,

From the heart stopping kiss,

That left it still beating.

If the first date that never happened,

Went so well,

Why not a second?

Even if it's just for thrills?

Valerie you never cease to amaze me. Your ability to relate love's longings, life's hopes and dreams, and youth's desires is marvelous. Lets hope the second date that never was is as intereesting the the first that never happened. : )

Dear Valerie, I like the dream-reality quality of this poem...
