do not forget

as the twilight falls
over city walls
down these starlet halls
come twinkling,
twirl on crimson toes
how she comes and goes,
o'er horizons lightly shone
for a moment you are gone,
lost in her arms pale, wan
dance alone, for the dawn,
'tis a rumour of mist distant
evaporating the instant,
yet as your dreams dissolve
into this dim resolve,
come again to play
say some other day,
