just a thought

A Garden Party?

the canaloupes and honeydews
waged war with watermelons and tomatoes
seeds flying
roots dying
and the garden rotted to the ground

peppers pelted cucumbers
while green beans blasted peas
aphids hid
and grubs slid
and the garden rotted to the ground

ladybug lowered the sunflower flag
and clouds loomed overhead
all was lost
at extreme cost
for the garden had rotted to the ground

Very nice, Kathy! I enjoyed the meter and the "traits" you gave the veggies.

Nice piece here.
