the Ocean
Roll in great water, roll inthunder against the sandy beach and roll out again
Like the hooves of a thousand horses you charge
upon the sand and shores at large
pouring upon them from the depths of your floor
remnants of what has lived before
And when you go like a giant rake
remnants of shorelife is what you take
This give and take goes on and on
and life cycles through you like a cleansing throng
of births and beginnings, deaths and ends
recyling Gods creations in your great bins
You roar and you roll you crash then you quiet
You excite and you soothe, you calm and you riot
You are ripe with life but dark death runs deep
You are the dreams of many and nightmares of sleep
Great sea of wonder you draw us to you
your mysteries we ponder, while we fear and love you
