Replenished Soul
Raindrops came again todayFirst time since the month of May.
No wind or thunder or electricity
Striking crumbled hearts with ferocity.
A quiet rain to quench the thirst
And make tiny bubbles grow and burst
In puddles that wait for happy feet
That playfully run upon the street.
A rain so needed on earth so dry;
Everything green about to die
Raindrops delivered from far above
Softened the song of a mourning dove.
